E63 AMG
Hi i am a newbie here. I brought a E63 5.5 bi turbo about a month ago, absolutely am in love with the car.

Ì thought to be on the safe side id get a major service done and a gearbox service. Once the service was done the garage told me about 6 oil leaks the engine had. There telling me its an engine out job, but not sure if its worth it. None of the leaks actually drip and in 1000 miles the oil level hasn't dropped. Ill try and post some pics on here.

Would you just leave them?

Thanks

Private or from a dealer buddy ?

Welcome to the forum.
Good choice of car. Still miss mine.
Quite a few owners here to help if you have issues.

Good that the warranty will fix those leaks. There will be a large labour bill to settle.

The garage has looked at it. And there aren't any error codes. They have the current software number. But unsure if its an old or new update. How will we tell?

Thanks

Does any of this mean anything?

Hardware version - 47/06
hardware number - 0034460610
software version - 20/12
software number - 0009028111

If the car is less than 30 days old I'd try and get a resolution with the dealer sooner rather than later or return the car or get the car to a different specialist with lots of experience with the M157 or M276

It's definitely worth checking the spark plugs for oil and camshaft position sensors as oil is known to leak and run through and fry the ECU

I have emailed the warranty company. So I'll see what they say.
The warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and it doesn't override them.

Correct.....its irrelevant what they say....your dealer is liable......if they want to claim via your warranty cover that's up to them. Speak to them first. I cant imagine the warranty will be the slightest bit interested in several small pre-existing oil leaks.

TBH I bet the dealer just offers your money back rather that sorting all that out. TBH I can hardly see any oil in those pics.

I have spoken with the dealer and they have said they will make up the difference because the warranty company has a 1k limit on claims.

They are sending out an assessor to inspect it. So have to wait for that now.

Did the MOT history mention any oil leaks?

Neither could I, just a couple of examples of what appears to be light oil misting.

If that really is the extent of it I’d be inclined to leave well alone. The chances of creating another issue where none previously existed when there’s so much dismantling and reassembly required shouldn’t be ignored.

I sort of feel this way as well. Theere aren't any drops of oil on my garage floor and the level hasn't gone down over the last 1k miles.

This is off the garage

The warranty company are under the impression that some of these oil leaks might be old oil and therefore not considered a present problem hence why the assessor is coming out to determine this.
