Well i recon we have all been there at one time or another . Oil service on my W124 260E yesterday . And find out after i had finished , that oil escaped the container on to the drive . I know how it came about the sump plug fell in the container so i had to fish it out .
There was very little room to get my hand in the container ,so i pulled it out a little , so oil went on to the drive . Would any one know a good oil remover ?. Thanks for looking

Cat Litter is my go to for oil spills. It will soak the bulk of it up,then degreaser and hosepipe,

Fine answer ,.but its a good degreaser i need . Been working on it all afternoon with bleach and dish soap .Still there .

I’ve actually found bar soap can work well. Rub it over the spill, then agitate with a brush then rinse.

I spilt oil on my newish block paving last year whilst doing an oil change, had very good results with vanish spray(for clothes stains) and dissolved dishwasher tablets and a stiff brush, got rid of 99% of it.

Apply , let soak,rinse.

Go with post number 2, suck the oil out and you can leave the sump plug alone, and no need to clean anything after!

Paper towel/cat litter for the bulk. Then scrub with washing up liquid and a bit of water. Paper towel the excess then some cat litter. Repeat a couple of times.

Gunk or carb cleaner spray to get rid of the final staining, with paper towel mop up as you go.

Washing powder works very well. Tip onto the stain spray with water and scrub. It will permanently kill off any moss on the drive as well.

I spilt oil on my block paved drive about three years ago....about a week after it was installed ! Fearing that my life expectancy might suddenly be shorter when she noticed (luckily she was out) and also having promised to put a board down before I started, which I didn't.....I spent about an hour trying to clean up with only moderate success....the oil had gone too far into the bricks....so plan B it was. Two hours later I had lifted about 30 bricks, jet washed them , paying particular attention to get all the sand off the backs, and then re fitted them all....but upside down. She never found out. Lesson learned
