Old Vs New E63 reviews

I’m vaguely considering picking up a crashed gen one E63 to harvest the engine and trans from for a Volvo 240 project that I have in mind for when the 911 is done, the requirement to replace the head bolts on early engines is something of an annoyance though.
Sounds exciting. I’m sure the M156 will find it’s way into other cars in time. I’d love to see the outcome.

Missing my Jam Jar, so I've come here to watch the video at the top of the thread 👍.

Just cannot get used to the new facelift. The lights look almost like my 2001 Audi A6 lol. I am so glad I got the 2020 pre-facelift. So many little things that annoy me with the new one.

Camera in grill off-center
Touch Sensitive buttons on steering wheel
No IWC clock
Front and rear lights look to weird
Miss the Crystal look of the rear lights
All in all shape looks ‘standard’ - older one looks meaner.

I mean I can only go by pictures and people say you tend to change your mind when you see it in person.

Granted, the one thing that goes for it is MBUX and if you like it, the grill.

Each their own though :) Still glad I got the 2020 one.

Agreed. New one looks like a fish from the front. Old one sounded better and the steering wheel was better and the lights were better. No real hardware improvement other than a softer suspension setting. I believe you can't get the performance seats anymore either.

Do you mean those round dials on either side of the wheel?

No, the buttons on the wheel are now touch instead of physical ones. Quite awkward to reach too. Another example of 'fixing' something that was never broken in the first place...

Pretty much. The facelift has changes that seem an afterthought. Like someone said 'we need to change something' so they did a lucky dip and that was the result. But the off center camera ? COME ON lol .... One of those things, once seen, it cannot be unseen.
