Hi all. I’m hoping someone is able to tell me which glow plug I need for a 2010 cls 350 CDI. It has the OM642 3L turbo V6 Diesel engine the problem is that this engine uses 3 types of glow plug. The 4.5v, 7v or a ceramic. Would I be correct in assuming that different control units would be required for the 4.5v / 7v and how would I be able to identify which one I have ?

From what I am aware and of my personal experience on changing my controller, the white backed unit is the newer style controller.
As for the glow plugs, I would recommend going directly to Mercedes for the parts as they are not that expensive and you are sure to get the correct glowplug.

- 2019 Glc coupe 350d was 2017 e350 c207 .. +65 ford kuga 2.0 cdi zetec awd..
The white back was on my 08 cls .so hardly new. Best was to check as ive already said is to remove a glow plug and check.
