Any how too's and how can I tell if it's definitely the issue? It's late here but had a quick look under bonnet and hose that comes off turbo has black crud over it and the turbo housing so I'll remove clean and refit tightly and see if it helps<br /> <br /> Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Really should do a smoke test before diving in. Could be a boost pipe split possibly but I’m sure that will give a different code.<br /> <br /> The intake manifold is not a hard job but quite fiddly. The broken stud would need extraction from the engine head which may be difficult if you’ve never done it. A left handed drill bit makes it easier. <br /> <br /> I’m sure someone did a write up on here...</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Hi all so had a closer look today as couldn't sleep with all the intake manifold bolt horror stories and came across this pipe going to intercooler. On closer inspection although I haven't removed it there seems to be a same split around an inch in length at the top of pipe. underneath where that pipe is is very grubby/cruddy would this throw the p2279 code up? Would anyone have a part number? <div class="bbImageWrapper js-lbImage" title="fcdf7b564a1f05c92a525009271d2225.jpg" data-src="https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/fcdf7b564a1f05c92a525009271d2225.jpg" data-lb-sidebar-href="" data-lb-caption-extra-html="" data-single-image="1"> <img src="https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/fcdf7b564a1f05c92a525009271d2225.jpg" data-url="https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/fcdf7b564a1f05c92a525009271d2225.jpg" class="bbImage" data-zoom-target="1" style="" alt="fcdf7b564a1f05c92a525009271d2225.jpg" title="" width="" height="" loading="lazy" /> </div><div class="bbImageWrapper js-lbImage" title="188f6da5406e71da66e4910c1899444c.jpg" data-src="https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/188f6da5406e71da66e4910c1899444c.jpg" data-lb-sidebar-href="" data-lb-caption-extra-html="" data-single-image="1"> <img src="https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/188f6da5406e71da66e4910c1899444c.jpg" data-url="https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/188f6da5406e71da66e4910c1899444c.jpg" class="bbImage" data-zoom-target="1" style="" alt="188f6da5406e71da66e4910c1899444c.jpg" title="" width="" height="" loading="lazy" /> </div><br /> <br /> Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Hi had exact same code last week. It was the intercooler pipe as shown earlier. Mb specialist did a smoke test and it showed up straight away. Cost was about £180 using genuine mb replacement pipe including star diagnosis, smoke test and new pipe. Took them about 30 mins to replace once confirmed.. let us know how you get on</div>
