One of a kind. but what a price.....

It's really a museum piece with that mileage.......

Must be the tyre dressing that bumps up the value, it's got a tanker load slapped all over them! :p

Hideously over-priced, but an awesome example!

It seemed that climate control on a UK 126-series is a pretty rare option - even more so for an earlier pre-facelift car!

Also, I notice the front heated seat switches are in the centre console in between the electric window buttons - was this their rightful place in the pre-facelift cars? The only place I've seen them previously is in front of the gear knob, where the storage compartment is. Maybe they're a retro-fit on this car?

Well i certainly wouldnt give it a second look if it drove past and as for 30k:eek:

I think we all have to admit it is a fabulous example but totally unusable. I can't imagine anybody buying it for everyday use.

Whenever I see ads like this my first thought is 'what else could you get for £30k?'

That's to cover the cracks etc of the "original" tyres, they need replacing ASAP!

Tyres

I would wangle new tyres into the deal at that price.

However, this car seems aimed squarely at the wealthy collector, in which case original tyres would be essential :)

Take a look at this one recently sold at Auto Barn - admittedly it was a 280SE & not a 500SEL, but it only had 940 miles (that's right - under one thousand) on the clock & was UNREGISTERED ! The asking price was 10k. Link here.

Blimey, I wonder if it needs an MOT? I would assume that it doesn't as it hasn't been registered???

i never thought about that. its a very good question. does anyone know for sure?!

i've said it before; these cars are purly for people with cash to spare and will be purchased by someone who just fancies that particular car just to own it. i doubt it will get used.

if i was filthy rich, i'd still be a merc fan, and amost other exotica something like that would be on my list of cars to buy!

Well if its never been registered surely it cant legally be driven on the road so doesnt need an mot.

As not reg wont need sorn etc.

I also thought the same thing about the tyre dressing and cracks:D

Crazy money.

Lovely, but £30k, and it doesn't even has alloys.

I guess it only needs the one intersted party.

Add state full service history, bet it does not have 20 Mercedes stamps in the book.

With nigh on 8k miles on its clock I would hazzard a guess that it's been used on the roads! Unless the initial owner has the mother of all driveways.

Still cheaper than The Boss's chariot...& with less miles. :D

I would rather buy the Boss's still.
