I believe I can find out exactly what my car has from a Russian Merc site by typing in the VIN ?

Can anyone point me in the right direction to save me trawling the net ?

Ta ever so

CJ

Very interesting.... according to the website my car has, among other things, the following:

953 rotating emergeny flasher, central front (blue light)

Still looking for this option though.... :)

953 for a W203 reads out as "Classic, standard equipment". The Russian site may sometimes use a bit old interpretation of some codes.

The Russian site told me my C43 was from Gibraltar, which MB UK could only tell me after a trawl through a data manual.

Phew... for a minute there I though I got an ex-plod car! ;)

Are these 'proper' codes listed somewhere on this site or on the Internet?

Anywhere I can find out my VIN from the reg nr ? Not picking up the car until wednesday so not sure of the VIN.

CJ

Is that a brand new car? It would not show up from the Russian site in that case.

I realised that my options list codes were printed on a card on the rear inside cover of the service book... and it is more accurate than the Russian site. My car is a 2006, not sure how far back they have been doing this though.

Brilliant !

Seems to be missing the COMAND off the list and has a garage door opener (jammer ?!) which may come in handy for the work car park barrier.

Anyone know what AMG special equipment consists of ?

COMAND is code 352, so maybe your 35N unknown code? It was standard and therefore not an option from 2003 though.

I believe AMG special equipment refers to the AMG bodykit.

I believe AMG special equipment refers to the AMG bodykit.

My option list says halogen lights, but it's supposed to be fitted with xenons. Maybe that's one of the unknown codes.

Can't see an AMG kit on it, mind you I wouldn't know what to look for anyway !

Amended my post. COMAND was standard, therefore not an option from 2003, so probably doesn't show in options list.

Looking at the photograph the car does have an AMG front splitter, can't see the rest.

Ooooh you've got a V8 Holden... lucky man. I used to have its little cousin, the V6 Omega.
