Out of curiosity: is there a rattle and squeak free car in existence at 100k miles / 10 years + age?

AirPods are also a solution

I started off using them just for cleaner call quality but soon found myself addicted to them for podcasts and music.

But when you stop using them and just stream the sound through the car’s Bluetooth, suddenly all kinds of wind, tyre and road noise reappears

Can’t use them in France: they’re illegal

I like to drive without radio in a Zen-like state of peace 😊

Seems reasonable.

AirPods without content will still remove most wind, tyre and engine noise, for silence seekers.

(While also letting you hear The Steering Committee when she comments on the quality of your driving.)

Hardly any cars creak unless something is wrong with the suspension or an older, small car that has next to no insulation.

That's not entirely accurate. My wife's Fiat 500 has a few creaks and rattles as did her previous Clio. It's nothing to do with "lack of insulation in small cars" it's to do with the fact that they're built down to a very low budget. It costs time and money to put an interior together that stays together over a number of years and millions of shocks and vibrations.

True but I meant generally.

Update. Two others have driven my car and cannot hear the rattle. In essence it is an almost imperceptible bat squeak that only materialises for a few seconds on those shitty rough stone and tar roads and i would reckon 99.999% of mbclub members either have similar noises or cannot hear them. I need to turn the radio on and chill 👍😅... But now i know it's there...😨
