Outside temperature probe

Picked up my C43 yesterday, and what a great car that is!

Put it in the garage and upon my return noticed that there was what seemed like a wire hanging down under the front spoiler. Upon closer inspection it looks like a outdoor temperature probe (correct term?) - so the question is, where should it attach? Have fixed it with a wirestrap behind the spoiler, but I doubt this is the correct place.

Help anyone?

there should be a small hole in the black grill under your bumper.As your looking at the front of your car its on the bottom right hand side of your number plate about 6" down
