Overtakes me then slows down

More accurately, that's your perception; it's not necessarily mine.
It certainly isn't just my perception, its an awful lot of people these days. I agree with you, there are many people on the internet, looking to be 'triggered', that is just the way it is these days and like it or not, these attitudes affect everything we do or say in daily life. People are free to say what they like of course, but they have to understand that sometimes, people will object to those views and look to question them - which is also their right.

It's not the right to express an opinion that bothers me; it's the tendency of the PC/'woke' brigade to object to dissenting opinions being expressed at all.

So do we keep quiet to placate them?
I wont, tell it as i see it. if its not liked so be it

Hey - i'm not here to judge, you do what you want to do. I personally don't because i've seen the consequences when stuff like this gets out of hand (I work in a law firm).

Late to the thread, but love this, it's me!

don't notice this at all as I'm generally in the outside lane proceeding as fast as I dare whilst constantly on the lookout for cameras and the rozzers.

I hardly ever use cruise control and don't spec any of my cars with any of the driving aids

Although not strictly illegal, undertaking is strongly discouraged by The Highway Code, stating “do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake.”
Never knew that. Always thought it was illegal. I shall continue undertaking at will!

Mind you don't get caught doing it too enthusiastically; if a police patrol spots you and considers you were driving without due care, the fact that it is not expressly forbidden in the Code will cut no ice at all.

Yeah. I realise that. But I often do an empty 4 lane A1 with someone in the third lane. I will zip by at a much greater speed two lanes inside. I think that's probably OK (except to the bored traffic cop).

nonsense in this case it means your simply proceeding down the road in a very measured manner the other plebs sat in the middle or even outside lane doing 60 mph are the morons, Government really needs to launch a massive education program about this issue its getting far worse and not being racist etc but I cover 40k miles a year and am seeing the issue more and more with Black and Asian drivers usually in a Merc or a BMW/ Audi etc who simply will not move over when doing in one case 45mph in the outside lane where she had pulled out in front of me 2 miles later she had a huge tailback behind her, had no option other than to undertake and get on with my trip, perhaps these drivers are from foreign countries and dont understand how to use Motorways properly, but antics like that are dangerous and cause am sure accidents as folks get stressed stuck behind them, Motorway training should be compulsory for all drivers and to me a refresh theory should be taken when you renew your licence.

How do you know am actually White?
FWIW as I said not a Racist comment just an observation, thats the trouble with folks these Days all to quick to start waving the race flag and not actually think about what is written, I grew up in Africa and may well be Black for all you know, it so happens am not but my Stepmum certainly is and my two half sisters are mixed race, I have seen first hand the infrastructure in many 3rd world countries and its not too difficult to understand how a foreign driver to the UK with no experience of fast roads or motorways has no idea how to use them, its a commonly held misconception that the outside lane is the "fast" lane, is it too difficult for you to grasp the concept drivers of "fast" cars think that is where they should in fact be driving?
No its all to do with Race isnt it numpty
So much anger about cruise control.

I’d like to think that I could avoid you and your issues on the road.

I'd like to think we could avoid some of your posts; that's one of them.

You can, piece of piss, block me.

Before you do so you should go back over this thread and note how inoffensive I have been compared to Suty.

QED

Well, I didn't foresee this thread turn out like this
yes sorry bought the hijack was not intended, now this might seem a weird question but your username rings a bell were you ever an online UT2004 player at all?

I used to think that MLH were ethnic or so, but it was pointed out to me that it was probably confirmation bias and in time, I tend to agree.

Firstly, it is really all sorts of people, just like in the Matrix when Agent Johnson(?) can assume any persona... when I'm a passenger I look occasionally just to try and figure it out.

Secondly, it's really hard to tell in a number of modern cars, as the B pillar is so thick... so it's hard to spot when one is driving... so I think that it's confirmation bias.

I can't fathom why the responsible agency doesn't plaster gantries and tv (youtube?) ads with the message to keep left if the lane will be free for more than ten seconds (not a very snappy message, I appreciate!).

I had a classic last night - joining M1 north from A14, VW Polo in front of me. M1 behind as we join is (for a change) empty. VW indicates and goes straight into lane 2! I join in lane 1, and flash lights but it sits there at about 65mph. I undertake and driver then flashes me. I drive off at 70-75 ish with them sit sat in lane 2. From what I could gather in the rear view mirror, the Polo remained in lane 2 for at least 2 miles.
