Today 0650hrs, turning west onto A4 at junction coming from Earl's court, I was indicating and moving across the the outside lane, but there's this black W203 c-class pootling up the 'fast' lane at 30ish and there's another car in front of me so I hang back and slot in behind him. What a big mistake. After the next set of lights, this car then pootles off at a snails pace (<30mph) (it's a 40mph zone - and everyone's doing 50 except him) and I sit back watching car after car after car... (get the picture) switch into the outer lane in front of this slow mercedes.
Meanwhile I'm stuck behind, temperature rising by the minute. Finally, a gap in the middle lane appears and I nip in and back to the 'fast' lane a bit later. Honestly, some people...

I am sorry to say that I see this more and more. I am regularly undertaking whereas it was never necessary. Not becasue I am breaking the speed limit, but because inconsiderate drivers will not pull across to the nearside lane when clear. I have even resported to doing it on the motorway.

I have recently resorted to carrying out 2 or 3 undertaking maneouvres on the mway using the SLOW lane to get past dopey idiots in both the middle and fast lanes. I dont like doing it but one does get so pissed off after mile upon mile of being stuck behind comatosed cretins.

This problem accounts for about 40% of mway hold ups/congestion in my estimation.

Can't the Govt. run some public information films on prime time BBC, to educate these gumbies?

Before I left Oz (Qld) in 2001, there was a campaign to outlaw driving on the right hand lane unless absolutely necessary. Used famous racing drivers to promote it and caught LOADS of people. I thought it was a good idea.

Sometimes I feel that it is necessary to undertake rather than flash at the car infront if they are travelling under the speed limit. Sometimes alerting a driver to their mistakes just causes anger and can lead to road rage.
