Paint colour

How do I find the colour of my paintwork on my 2000reg E220cdi? I've looked at the slam pannel and can make out what I think is the code..189m. If i've got the right number, how can I get the name of the paint colour?Do I have to ring the stealer or will someone like Hellfords be able to tell me. The reason I need to know is that I've scuffed the rear bumper reversing and want to do a repair.Thanks in advance to all you helpful guys out there in cyberspace. The colour is a dark blue metallic (pearlescent?)

As far as I know the dealer will only be interested in the code for touch up paints.

But if you really need to know, this site seems to list all known colours.

189 would seem to be greenish black though. In fact if you do a search for the word "paint" on this forum you can find a thread where Shude has posted a photo of a W202 with a colour code of 189:

Thanks Steve and Kick, yes it does look as if 189 is code for some type of black. I did look at Shudes post but as my code appears to have an 'm' after it, I wasn't sure if I was seeing the same colour as the car in Shudes post looks a definite black. Perhaps dark mettalic blue is the new black?
Wonder when my eye test is due?Must go 'n have a look.
