Panoramic Roof - W204 Issues

Does anyone have any experience of the workings of the W204 panoramic roof?

Or does anyone have access to the service manual with some steps/instructions on maintenance?

When I got the car, the roof squeaked and creaked. It was a fast pitched noise, which didn't go away. I got the car serviced and asked for it to be resolved at the same time. "Sure" they said. I got the car back, and guess what? It was no better.

Car went back to the supplying dealer for some warranty work/investigation, and whilst it was in, I asked for the roof to be resolved again. "Sure" they said. I got the car back, and guess what? Yep, it was no better.

It seems that the following helps:-
-If I lube the seals with gummi-pflege and apply grease to the rails etc, it will normally be quiet for 1-2 weeks, then the issue comes back.
-If I press upwards on the glass panel while the noise is going on, the noise soon stops.

This leads me to believe it's an adjustment issue.... If the dealers can't fix it... Can I?

Can anyone help? Can anyone access the relevant section of the workshop manual? Can anyone suggest a specialist that has resolved the issue for them?

Please help.

Go down to halfords and buy a bottle of dry lube for bike chains.

With the roof shut run a bead of lube around all the seals. Then open and close the roof a few times and all should be good!

It will last around 2-3 months before you need to grease again unless you wash it every week :-)

My previous S205 had the same issue so I kept a bottle in the boot. Think it's £8

Hey Jay, thanks for this.

I've tried spraying grease in and around everything while the roof is open, but I haven't tried this, so I will this week!
