Evening chaps-I installed some parking sensors on my partners 2009 Mini Clubman today. I used a multimeter to determine which wire to the rear light cluster became live when reverse was engaged and wired them up as per instructions. They work fine except for one little niggle: when I start the car the sensors beep quietly for about 8-10 seconds and then go quiet but do work normally when required. I put the multimeter across it and it seems to pulse a few volts during the few seconds after start up which I presume is causing the sensors to beep. The only thing I could think that could cause this is a bulb self check on start up. IE: a few volts passed through the bulbs to check but no enough to light a bulb. Could I fit a resistor to overcome this issue or use a relay, or would that cause a canbus error? Any ideas on a cure or are your thoughts guys?

Yeah, know that, just pullin' ya pi$$er! :D

Sounds like a 'Start up' test sequence to me.

Some sort of delay input timer module to the sensors should sort that out.

Using anything else to 'damp' the signal will effect normal operations.

Some people have suggested a relay, including a website that sells sensors. Think i will try that
