parking sensors

Hi just wondering I recently bought my mercedes c class estate 54 plate it said it has front and rear parking sensors the rear works fine but the front don't seem to go off are they broken or are they just there and not conected from the factory can the happen before I pay someone to look around them anyone have any ideas cheers

If it has the six sensors in the front bumper then they should work. If any sensors are disconnected or broken in either the front or the rear then the control unit will warn you (usually with loud tone and then displaying two red LEDs in the display).

Some cars back then were only fitted with rear sensors, check the front bumper to see if any are there.

Pretty sure MB has always fitted sensors front and rear whenever Parktronjc is fitted.
Rear only sensors is what BMW and Audi used to do. If you see a Merc with rear only sensors, chances are it's been retrofitted.
