I'm not sure how it works in your car - but in mine, I have these LED displays and when you are getting close, you have a number of LEDs relating to the proximity. Are you saying this is happening, or as the case was with mine - the two red LEDs came on when it rained, which was resolved by drying them out and applying some specific grease for the job?
To test them, I would imagine the best thing would be to park somewhere where there is nothing around you, and get someone else with a broom handle or something to wave in front of each sensor respectively whilst standing well clear. I would imagine this would reveal the culprit(s).
If they have only been replaced recently, I would probably be suspecting one or more duffers in there (or maybe bad connection so remove and re-fit).
If you paid for it to be done, take it back to them!
