So today the E55 popped up saying check coolant level and when I checked i found a leak. A few hours later and it turned out this pipe has been rubbing against another pipe and has worn this hole. (Guessing its been doing it since new and finally give in) so the question is does anyone know the name or part number so i can order a new one ? Its the pipe that comes from the bottom of the filler bottle and runs down and along the bottom of the fan and then back up into the radiator. Thanks in advance because i can't find anything on it :dk:

I think I'd be tempted to just replace it with a one piece rubber hose seeing as both ends look the same size. Lot cheaper and readily available.

The pipe is aluminium I'm not sure if the heat/pressure would be ok doing that, and it kinks and bends around a few things so i don't think that idea would work

Do you mean replace 16 72 with 23 72 ? I've just found that myself :thumb: These engines are hand bulit buy one person so guessing the guy who built his also built mine :fail i will have to phone Mercedes tomorrow but i know the guy on the phone will be baffled unless i had a name or part number so i will try those, Thanks

Yes, 23 72 is the replacement for 16 72.

Don't think there was a lot of difference though as EPC stated to use old stock first (up to July 2005 anyway).

You're right 211 500 23 72 was the one i got from Mercedes today. It's slightly different the pipe is a little longer rather than a longer hose connection but all fits the same. £90 all in and around 15/20 mins to do so I can't complain.
