yesterday my door 'button' popos up and down with a brrr noise, the 'button' is half way up and wont open from the outside...any quick fixes or is it gone? if so what am i looking at to replace...

New lock required

Same thing happened to me a while ago, the door pin shoots up & down like a machine gun & you need to push the button down by hand, correct ?

I think you'll need a new locking mechanism, you'll need to remove the door card & it'll be to the rear of the door, (you'll see the little rod on the top) simply trace the wires unplug from the electric block in the door & replace.

I took mine to an indie here in Plymouth as mine is a coupe which needed the air bag to be removed.

Common fault on C Classes

Take a look here http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/89919-w203-central-locking-problem.html

Common fault in E class as well. Door glass needs to come out to replace lock in that model. Lock is approx £75 with just over an hours labour allowed.

Mine does the same. Got the part yesterday and will be changing it myself. I believe there's some rivets that might need drilling out on the c-class but someone said it may be possible to squeeze it in.

Can take some pictures if it helps :thumb:
