Hi Members,

I have started using my new laptop today and the nightmare of re-installing all the software begins.

I have office professional 2007 with the new system.

I have used UDC Output as my PDF printer but would like to know if there is a better, easier or more effecient way of printing to PDF.

Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

Paul.

One of the issues with UDC Output is that I have to rename a document produced from MS Access such as a purchase order or invoice.

This isn't the case when printing a document from MS Word though, the title of the document passes through ready for attaching to email without the need to rename which is very handy.

Do all PDF print programs operate in the same way?

I have Adobe Acrobat but still use CutePDF most of the time - it's excellent, much faster, and produces smaller files than the real thing!

Think you might need to update Office 2007 or Adobe we print direct to PDF from Word, Access and Excel without renaming the document.

CutePDF works very well, small, free and fast :)

If CutePDF needed another plug... here's one from me. It's a great little bit of software! :thumb:

In Office 2007 pdf printing is supported directly, but you have to download it from Microsoft's download website (free). Just search for "save as pdf".

Well, I'll buck the trend and offer a vote for this:

The basic version is free, give it a try. :)

Cheers,

A vote for CutePDF, but...

I use CutePDF for A4 4 side booklets (A3 one sheet of folded) then send the PDF to the printers.

Trouble is if I try to print at > 600-dpi and the pages have lots of graphics I lose the graphics on the right hand side of the page - I suspect an issue/bug with the amount of memory cutePDF can address.

Anyway looking for any alternative free version that will handle higher resolutions. Any suggestions.

Primo PDF here - I also recommend the paid Nitro PDF to my clients.

As I have office 2007 pro, I will look at using that PDF software.

If that doesn't work out I'll look at the other suggestions mentioned earlier.

Many thanks for all the help.

Paul.

I use this, was installed directly with Office although I have Enterprise 2007 version.
