Picked up my new C Class yesterday and I am very impressed. Compared to my 3 Series I feel I am in a classier car. The improved interior is fantastic, with the sports pack and Leather the car is a real head turner. By far the best car I have brought so far.

As for driving impressions the 200K's engine although tight still feels very responsive and certainly feels allot quicker than my 318 (2 litre valvetronic) and pretty much the same as my previous 320d. The handling again is spot on does seem to run wide more quickly than the 3 series but it now matches the 3 series for handling and beats it on refinment. Just need to get some miles under my belt with it and get use to the parking brake

congrat's on your new motor. Enjoy :bannana:

PS - we like piccies in the members Gallery - we're a nosey bunch :p

Well done. Sounds a nice car, get those pictures posted!

parking brake

had mine 11 months and never used the parking brake yet (mind you nerver stopped on any steep hills) just used park...

I think we should we be putting them on sometimes just to test the brakes still work

I shall get some piccies up tomorrow seeing as it is raining and the merc is warm and dry in the garage!!

It's recommended you use them every now and again. as they are a hub brake which doesn't get any use under normal braking (unlike the old fashioned drum brakes) it's also worth "cleaning" them occasionally - drive the car for a hundred yards or so with the brake just engaged to clear any deposits from the shoes and hub - I would suggest that any competant or dilligent person would consider this an essential part of their regular maintainance program after all it's more than just a parking brake - it's there for emergencies/safety as well :D

those wheels r the same as mine ;)

The sports pack is excellent Value at £630 including cross drilled and upgraded front callipers, sports exhaust, sports pedals an sports sterring wheel, sports suspension and those 17" alloys. The price seems almost too cheap and maybe one of the reasons they reduced the dealer margin by 2%!!

Sport pack looks good and i do agree about the initial value for money :)

It's also a little bit of cleverness on mercedes part too.

Europarts won't carry those brake discs and ill bet they are bigger pads too :)

So , guess who you will have to buy the more expencive discs from :)

Some poor sod down the line will be stung for the exhaust too :)

ahh the joys .. maybe ive had a mercedes to long to be this cynical.

Lovely car. Congratulations

Marc
