My New Project Car! - AMG Kitted, Moon Mileage C220 CDI Estate

1 If partner doesn't mind - front seat on lap
I hope that's a joke..... unless you want your killed by a combination of airbag and dashboard impact that's a silly thing to do. Also against the latest highway code and off course dogs have to be retained in a car now.

I bet you’re a right laugh at parties.

Sorry....but I know of a nasty incident involving a mid speed front ender, a windscreen, a broken headrest, a cracked neck vertebrae ........ and a very, very dead, unrestrained Jack Russell. I'll leave it there.

I think every member of this forum for die-hard car enthusiasts and dog owners will know this.

Here's the Maltese in the SL in her "car basket" with securing strap behind her which connects to the seat belt.20210502_111725.jpg

The later w203's are great value for money in my eyes, sister ran a c200 for a few years and was very easy to keep on the road. Rear brake pipes was the biggest job we had to tackle and even those can be done without removing subframe or tank. I think it's a very good purchase and still looks smart with the kit and nice wheels!

A company called Hycote do good value ready made spray cans and touch up sticks in Mercedes brilliant silver. May be worth a try for your projects arch and bumber blemishes. The paint match was very good when i used them on my brilliant silver s210 320 cdi. Interesting YT vid.:thumb:

I like them but aren’t parts of the engine made of chocolate.

Looking good!

Love the alloys.

The other strong reason for a dog car is coat shedding. The fox red that we occasionally babysit, leaves her hair everywhere whenever she travels.

A nightmare for someone who likes a clean and tidy car

She is much happier in the back of an estate too. Snooze-tastic
Your not wrong with the fox red , he only looks at the car and fog hair every where

Anyone have any S203 floormats? - Ive looked on eBay and they only appear to be aftermarket or ragged.

PXL_20250103_135435544.MP.jpg

Since this photo was taken ive fully restored the steering wheel, ill include details in a future episode.

This weekend we are fitting new Dampers, Eibach lowering springs (3cm drop), as well as new ball joints and bushes. Its going to feel like a new car :)

Ive also discovered a tuning box in the engine bay, anyone have a rough idea of what specs it will be pushing out with this fitted?

Did you get it MOT’d?

Yeah, it failed on everything the previous owner stated. Luckly no hidden horrors! - MOT guys/my garage amazed at what a bargain it is.

Repair immediately (major defects):
  • Parking brake efficiency below requirements (1.4.2 (a) (i))
  • Nearside Headlamp aim too high (4.1.2 (a))
  • Offside Headlamp aim too high (4.1.2 (a))
  • Offside Front Anti-roll bar pin or bush excessively worn D bush (5.3.4 (a) (i))
  • Nearside Rear Anti-roll bar pin or bush excessively worn D bush (5.3.4 (a) (i))
  • Offside Rear Anti-roll bar pin or bush excessively worn D bush (5.3.4 (a) (i))
  • Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm ball joint excessively worn rear arm outer ball joint (5.3.4 (a) (i))
  • Offside Front Coil spring mounting corroded and seriously weakened lower mount plate on shock (5.3.1 (b) (i))
  • Offside Front Coil spring mounting fractured lower mount plate on shock (5.3.1 (b) (i))

All going well, this weekend we will fix all this (bar the headlights) :thumb:

Am filming it all for the next episode.
