PHOTOGRAPHER Jamie Russell captured these incredible photographs as lightning flashed over the Isle of Wight last night (Monday).
After days of hot weather, thunder storms were reported around much of the Isle of Wight during the night.
Jamie, of Island Visions Photography, grabbed his camera and took these pictures showing lightning over Sandown Bay and St Catherine's (below).

Nice! Certainly better than my attempt for South Cumbria last night! I'm trying again tonight but the storms so far have passed about 10 miles to East of us.

Boo-hoo. I love a good thunderstorm and we never get them here. Never...last one nearly 20yrs ago iirc.
