hi everyone,

ive had a 1998 c200 for a month or so now, so after upgrading lights and grill ive started on the engine. Having covered 68000 it seems to be very clean but the pipe work is looking tired. question is, how do i measure the internal diamiter of the pipes? (all rad pipes, fuel etc...)

ive measured a few external diameters been 16mm 17mm etc but without knowing the thickness of the walls i cant work out the internal diameter. i dont want to just pull one pipe off and measure as i think it may of been stretched to fit over an ancillary.

Do you just want to replace them, or are you thinking of using coloured silicone hose's?

i would like to replace them maybe with a different colour but im not 100% sure as of yet

I dont think there is an off the shelf hose kit for your car, short of taking off every hose and measuring what they fit, there is not alot you can do.

If you want to colour them you can buy self bonding silicone tape, comes in different colours but how good it is I dont know.

yeah i did figure that there would be no off the shelf kit :) which is a good thing so you dont end up been fleeced.

looks like im gonna have to bite the bullet and take some off.
