This is the first time I have had command and have been trying the DVD option. I see you cannot drive while DVD is playing and so when exactly do people watch a DVD exactly - and will the car get a flat battery if I leave the kids to watch a film while waiting in the car i.e. car park of Waitrose cos they don't wnt to come in?

Can the control for viewing by moving be lifted and of so how?

Anyone know where I can get a rear screen for the centre consol at the back?

Thanks

Marc

At least they can listen to DVDs, like music videos while driving, I have never watched a real movie in the car. The car battery would not run flat if you let kids watch a DVD, the car would switch Comand off after some time, before the battery is too low.

On a W211 you can use an external device or some specific tools to enable video in motion. Why would you want to do it?

From your dealer's parts desk.

The Comand warns you that unless you start the engine it will shut down. My S had a rear screen but am not sure if the 211 can have one. The rear screen stays on in motion obviously.

There is an OEM single rear screen for the W211 too.

I put music DVD's on and enjoy the surround sound :) its brilliant. Apart from that if im waiting for someone ive always got some dvd's kicking about in the car to fire on. usually stand up comedy or a film comedy or something. Maybe even watch one of the concerts. But yes on the whole its useless without the rear screen :)
