My car 2012 C250 has covered about 43K miles. First diesel I owned and wasn’t aware of short trips not suitable.
I currently do maximum 2 miles, 10 -15 minutes drive and 20mph shorts trips about 4 times a day.
Engine management lights appeared and car is driving with very late gear changes.
Local garage who plugged into their diagnostic showed fault code P246309 “The soot contents of the diesel particulate filter is not OK. There is a component fault” “Status Current and stored”.
I have done some research and I understand this needs to be diagnosed with mercedes specialist to diagnose root problem if any.
Please reccomend a garage in London.
Also have seen various place who offer DPF cleaning service. There are some mixed reviews. Some say once cleaned, dpf is as good as new and others state precious metal are damaged during cleaning process.
If anybody has their dpf cleaned please help with feedback.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
