Hi Everyone
2006 MLW164 320CDi
I recently changed the turbo solenoid and noticed a plug left out of its socket and taped up. See photo. Can anyone tell me what the plug is for and why on earth would someone leave it unplugged.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

As above swirl flap motor bypass . Just re tape it and ignore it .

Google” om642 swirl flap motor 4.7k ohm bypass “ for loads of reading

Thanks kind people
Have ordered the resistor

If it unplugged without the resistor in then it should give you a check engine light. If there is no light then it probably means the swirl flap motor system has been mapped out. No need for resistor then. Mine is mapped out and needs to be left unplugged as the motor failed to short circuit so blows a fuse if plugged in even with it mapped out.
