I invested in an electric polisher from Halfords today and also bought some coloured t cut to hide some of the light scratches from where the car has been scratched in a car wash by the previous owner (guess on my part).

Question is should I also be using a polish/wax in addition to the t cut?

Thanks

You must be very careful using T cut and a power polisher as you can go right through the paint in seconds, I would use something less coarse,, and what ever you do do not go near or on the corners or edges.

You must finish of with a polish

There are very good threads here regarding car polishers and polishing.

Do a search on Porter Cable and that should put you in the right direction to buying a decent car polisher that won't damage your paintwork and also some advice on polishing.

if you use a polish after the coloured t cut you will remove it all and fill the scratches with the new polish

you should follow up with a wax though and as said be carefull with a machine and t cut , use plenty of water

Just had a read through... an excellent guide
