I have just bought a 2003 Vito 108cdi. The seller stated that the glow plugs had recently been replaced as had the fuel pump. And stated that the plug light stayed on. Having read previously about the light staying on and everything running ok, I didn't give it much thought.

Firstly, I have now noticed that the van takes a bit of turning over to start and on cold mornings the lights come on but won't turn over. Having left the ignition on for a few minutes, I returned and tried to turn over and it eventually started.

Second issue (probably connected), after a while, on a steady run, I don't seem to be able to accelerate above 2900rpm.

Any advice would be much appreciated before I go to the garage.

The best advice is to take it to either an MB dealer (expensive) or a good specialist independent (much better) who will put it on a STAR (MB's diagnostic system) and find out what's really wrong with it. It'll be cheaper than randomly throwing parts at it.

Some good indie suggestions will follow if you tell us whereabouts you are in the country.

Welcome aboard by the way :thumb:
