Post-85 SL500 for £4000

He says its been standing for a while.....hope it hasn't been standing on that grass patch where the pics have been taken as that certainly won't do it much good as far as underside rust is concerned

I dont think it has been left parked up on that bit of grass, from what I can see the grass does not seem dead under the car.

212,000 miles which also explains the low price.....also if you check out the last photo with the soft top cover lifted and then check out the rust around the rim of the metal cover.

yeah its very high mileage.... didnt notice the rust on the metal cover. i bet the sills and usual places are rotted aswell. £4k isnt too bad though if you can tackle these things yourself.

Derek am I picking up a vibe that you want to buy it :D

hehe, i'd be seriously intersted if i hadnt got the one i have.... i definatly dont need two!

I guess it's cheap against the price of a good one, but with 212k miles on the clock would it ever really be worth all that much more? You could end up with a money pit, spending lots of time/money on it and then not really see much of a return if you come to sell.

Might be cheaper in the long run to buy a good example and just keep on top of it

Obviously if you like the DIY/project aspect, or see it differently fair enough - only IMHO :)
