power gearchange problems

Hello all.
I have replaced the MAF on my 99 C200 petrol ,i have since done about 400 miles or so,it doesnt seem to be as powerful as it should be when you put the boot down or it doesnt change up or down when it should ,Do i need to reprogramme the box??Any help would be appreciated ,

Shouldn't need reprogramming. Is the new MAF a good one and is it connected properly?

Thanks for the reply,The MAF is fitted correctly its not a bosch unit it is a Meat & Doria {an italian equivilant to bosch} which i bought from my local motor factors for 180 euros ,im begining to think i should go for the bosch unit its more expensive but at least i know it is a quality product .what do you think ?

Probably.
there are plenty of cases of none OEM MAFs not working properly, however it may not be that.

Replaced the MAF unit with a bosch unit and hey presto ,going like a dream .gift.
I know i am going off topic here has any body fitted the plasma gauages listed on EBay.de and how do they look ?Thinking of taking the plunge .
