The pre-glow warning light had started staying on after fire up on my 2008 320ML. I have had a few spurious warnings with this car so as the function was fine I left it until yesterday to pop in the dealers and have it plugged in.
“Pre-glow on number six is playing up" they said. They had a new one in stock, popped it in and I was on my way by 9.30 with apologies and no charge. The ML is only just over a year old with 15k miles on it. My Vito has well over 100k and whilst it has an appetite for injectors, has never had pre-glow changed. I have clocked up over 80k (cumulatively) with the V6 diesels and never heard of this being an issue.
Have I been in a parallel universe or is this very rare?
