Just thought I'd share...
Before I do, I will start with the fact that I am in no way affiliated with the garage and that this is an independant review (so far...) of an independant garage.

I need to get my ATF changed on my w203 (722.6) gearbox.
Wanted an indie who was MB approved (I've had problems with my main dealer, MB Colindale, and don't think all works were carried out last time I had a B Service ), saw a post mentioning Premier Service, so thought I'd pop down to see the place before I booked the car in...

Very professional outfit, the main techie was Merc approved, been there 5 months from opening, from MB Colindale. (We shared the same opinion about the Service Manager there... not so good! )

He showed me around the garage, they are fairly new in the area, given 5 months, but have been in the business a little bit longer with their Leicester garage. They are MB Approved, do servicing, body work, with spray booth, new STAR Compact 4 diagnostics/coding.
(Alfie.... Any good? - Sorry mate, the distance to travel is too far for me to get just coding done)
I was thinking of going to PCS, but again the distance is too far, I need an indie near me, again sorry mate, read so much about the great work you do.

Booked the car in for the ATF change for Monday, and the guy said he will check the SCN Coding for the Gearbox and Main ECU as well to make sure everything is working before I leave.
It'll be a While-I-Wait service, as its in NW London, but still a bit too far from home, so he agreed to carry out the work, whilst I waited in there very plush reception/waiting area.

Been quoted £160 inc. VAT for the ATF, and depending on if it needs work/a tweak then a bit on top for any coding.
MB Colindale quoted £215 inc. VAT for the ATF change.
So, me thinks, good deal?!?!

Will let you know with another post how the ATF change actually went, and the level of customer service after they've got my car!

But so far, so good....
fingers crossed.

They have a place in Leicester too, details in the link, but I am unable to comment on that garage, as I've never been there.

Again, I am in no way affiliated with Premier Service.

Hiten.

Appreciate that you have no connection with the garage but I would like to pick up one point, if only because you mentioned it three times. You used the word "Approved" as if it conveys some official MB authorisation.

There are a few offical "Authorised Repairers" that MB sanction - there's not many of them left, but they were generally the little independant dealers that MB had before their big re-org a few years ago. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know there is no MB Approval of other independant garages?

No issue with this - but just want you to be aware of what you're getting. It's an independant MB specialist, but not an MB Approved garage.

Just down the road from me.. may have to pop in and say hello!

Amit

Rory, thanks for the correction/insight....
Apologies, I used the term 'Approved', which should indeed be specialists.

Is this the place in the industrial estate behind Comet + the honda dealer?

Is this the place in the industrial estate behind Comet + the honda dealer?

Yep, behind Comet and Honda dealer.

So, my experience.......
Defo worth a visit if you live in North London, not many places that 'specialise' in Mercs...
Car booked in for 11:00, got there 5mins earlier.
Just a 5mins wait to get another car off a ramp, once the air-con recharge was done. I waited 5mins, so 11:00 on the dot, my car was on the ramp.

ATF changed - drained (inc. Torque converter), new filter, new oil. Done.

I asked before hand, if I could watch as the SCN coding was done, and was called in the service area to watch this happen in front of my eyes. (very friendly chap, Paul, the head techie).
SCN Coding - (722.6 gearbox), no new codes to put on.
- (bear with me, as I remember, but ME or the main fuel ECU, new codes to put on found, by using the STAR machine, done an online update.
Failed first time, their internet connection is pants apparently, even the receptionist was complaining!
Was going to try a second time, but said, if it fails again, then I could come back later in the week to get this done, as it could be the garage end, or Merc (in Milton Keynes, I think he said)'s fault.
So, tried a second time, and all is well, new ECU coding, checked for any stored faults, checked the car over, and erased any faults.

Paid the bill, which was £160 inc. VAT, for ATF change and 'free' SCN coding update.
Very pleased with the service, very friendly staff, and very knowledgable.
Speaking to Paul, he said he was Merc mai dealer tech for 17years, before starting here 5months ago, (oh and that he's a qualified plasterer ) multi-talented?!?!?! nevertheless, he knows his stuff, I told of him problems I've had with the car, and he knew what the fault was, before I told him what was needed to fix it.

I will be taking my car here from now on!

Spoke to Paul in regards to my gearbox problem. He stated straight away that it needs an update as the tip tronic function is pants. He said if I can live without tip tronic then the car shouldn't go into limp. Sounds pretty honest but without experiencing can't really say.

I took my W140 sclass to Premier for a B service and for some work to the self leveling suspension. The service was courteous and honest. The work was carried out to a high standard. Paul did his best to minimise the cost of repairing the self leveling suspension and he showed excellent technical knowledge. I will certainly use Premier again.

Sclass

Nice to hear about a recommendable indie. With so many around, difficult to know who is really good. Need to book my S-Class with premier as well as I have been to two indie's and they have given me 2 different reports on what needs to be on on the W140. Fingers crossed.

Very close to me too. But I recently got my car serviced at Wayne Gates in Harrow. The service was so good, I would have to go back. Which is a shame, as I live in Ruislip. Would have been very easy. If it's in South Ruislip, I could walk home in half hour, as I live just off Ruislip High St.
