A45 and loving it.
Hi,newbie here.I have seen a nice A45 from Stratstone for £37800,what I am wondering is what sort of price or discount I could get them to come down to,ie maybe another grand or is that being un realistic. What sort of deals have you guys had on used cars.Ta.

If it helps, I got a 9.2% discount on a brand new one without haggling. Work out the list price for the specification of the car you've found, and knock 10% off and there's your new price. Let that guide how much of an additional discount seems appropriate for the age/mileage of the car concerned.

Coast2coastcars.co.uk are showing £36900 for a new one with the premium pack.

Stratstone tend not to discount, on used anyway, they seem to be the cheapest every time and stick to the asking price knowing this. It is a bit weird though as I have offered a grand off before to be told "no" and then seen it 2 weeks later £2k cheaper.

This. I saw a defender at Hartwell's a few years ago. 25,000 asking. I offered 22,000. Nope said the salesman. It's off to auction tomorrow and we need more. I suspected shenanigans but no, there it was a week later achieving 19,000 hammer less sellers fee. Sometimes I don't understand dealers.

If you can find a pre registered car with delivery mileage you can normally get a good discount from list price-I did on mine.

Don't buy the car now. Hope it isn't sold and go and haggle a couple of days before the end of March as they will be happy to take a loss in order to meet their bonus targets. Also the 2 free services promotion on used cars from Mercedes ends on 31st March at a main dealer I got £1000 off a £21000 car and the part exchange price increased by £2000 which equates to a £3000 discount. I would want substantially more of an AMG car which has a very limited market.

I have bought a few cars from Stratstone and very difficult to get any money off, but they seem to be happy to pay for travel costs and tax and free services.
