Hello

My W211 E55 is starting to squeek on start up and at times wil squeek when driven.

I am therefore looking at changing all the pulleys/belts. I have had MSL upgrade the Supercharger pulley, soo this can remain.

Does anyone know the offical mercedes names/part numbers for all the diffrent pulleys. I had to walk out of mercedes in Gatwick as the service guy was so damn rude!!!:fail

The crank pulley will be replaced as that has a slight wobble. other than that i think the idle tensioner pulley will require a change at 100k miles.. Any others???

Will be going to nurburgring in the next few months :bannana:

I have already got brakes and tyres sorted (Perelli tyres and oem brakes) as well as uprated brake fluid, anything else i would take care off before the trip??

From seeing a fair few e55's and also threads on mb world all crank pulleys have a wobble to them so no point in replacing it....

I've just changed the pulleys on my 55 Kompressor. I would avoid Mercedes as they wanted £600 without fitting for the tensioner, idler and double guide pulleys.
I got some asp performance pulleys from the U.S. for half that.

Nurburgring on Pirelli's
Great tyres for sightseeing but running a track day they wouldn't be most 55k guys choice :dk:

Definitely plugs, oil and filter change before you go. Put car on STAR diagnostics as well just to put your mind at rest that there are no hidden gremlins about to pop up when you arrive.....better safe than sorry
If your car doesn't have a Limited slip Diff then see if you can have a Quaife or Wavetrac fitted as that will enhance your enjoyment immensely

Good luck on the track and enjoy :thumb:

Do you have a link to the webiste you used?

the service are Mercedes is worlds apart from BMW.. BMW always made you feel welcome and always very helpful. Mercedes rude and arrogant on the 3 occasions i have had to go there...

I'm only planning a few laps not going to be chasing numbers. My friends in M3's, RS4's are crazy about the track. I just want to show them up on the autobhan :thumb: im just going along for the fun of the road trip... putting the E on a track is not a main priority....

which tyres are recommended???? :dk:

Have recently had a service completed at MSL

I've used ASP for years first class service and top guys when you call them to discuss a problem or upgrade, used them all the time when we had the Motorsport business.

This might help

ASP Racing - Import and Domestic Street Pulleys

Pirellis on the ring :eek: you are a much braver man than me, also with OEM brakes you need to be careful. Not sure on an E55 but on a C63 and E63 on standard set up the brakes are useless after about a lap and a half. I'd do one lap at a time and then rest them if you are giving it beans around the track.

Acid as MSL can get you the ASP pulley kit, he did for me on my last car so worth contacting him.

starting to think i may need to re think the pirelli tyres :fail...

Some reasearch will be required.

speak to MSL about the ASP pulley set

you will probably find the belt tensioner is weak and will need replacing too.

Yes, Olly changed mine on the CL

Couldn't agree more, Bmw has far superior customer care!
It was Eurocharged.com and bought the three pulley set. Wish I'd gone to Acid first as it would have been easier.
You'll also need the serpentine belt tensioner which ASP don't make a pulley for. I got mine from Kms parts in Birmingham, Acid maybe able to find you one though. You may find the screeching is 80% the old belts.

Can you confirm i have this correct and that im not losing my marbles..

Please correct me if wrong

The tensioner one closest to the supercharger can be removed easy enough and you can drill the rivers and remove the bearing to replace then just use bolts instead of rivets, about £5 for the bearing or I saw on gsf they have new whole pulleys for about 20 quid I think.... Check it's not the belt though as when old and cold they can squeak
