Thinking of buying a CLS 320 with 114000 on the clock motorway miles, full service history at main dealers and perfect condition, already own a 180 k just want a 4 door. Your thoughts gentlemen please.

I bought a B180 for my mother and the main dealer was able to show all the work done to the vehicle from new. If money has been spent on a vehicle, it could show that the owner has taken care of the vehicle, or that the vehicle has had issues.

As with any second hand purchase, you could buy a lemon, or buy a gem.

A few years back, I bought a Mondeo, and even though it suffered from a number of faults when I got rid of it, for the first year of ownership it was faultless.

It's only just run in Ian! I had a 520i with 200k on the clock and a Saab 9000 with 160k on the clock...neither ever let me down. You need to see FSH and needs to be priced accordingly...don't pay too much!

All about the price being right I think. No intrinsic reason why that car shouldn't give masses more service. If you could tell us a bit more (age etc) there may be other comments on things to watch for - does it have SBC for example and if so has the pump been replaced - but I certainly wouldn't rule it out for having that mileage alone.

The cars just had an £871 service and the asking price is £7995, fully stamped service book by main dealers, bodywork unblemished in iridium silver, immaculate leather interior, what do you think?

Further note it's on a 06 plate

Is it a private sale?- goes to your rights as a consumer if something goes wrong. Is it a one owner car? Full service history at main dealers- all the same main dealer? goes to service history continuity. At £7995= £8k it would appear to be " all the money"

The most important thing for me is condition and as you say body work and interior are great so I would buy it if I was in the market for one. As it sounds like it has been looked after.
