Hi all,
Had an issue with the brakes a couple of months back, basically I broke from a highish speed off a motorway junction without issue, then came to the next roundabout and went to brake and the pedal went close to the floor, needing allot more pressure to slow down.
Thinking it was the brake fluid (which was overdue a change), I changed the fluid, but the issue hasn't gone away.
The symptom is, when I press the pedal, I get some resistance as normal, and then it lets go with quite a bit of travel before it picks up again, but very "wooden", much like a racing car or un-servo'd cars brakes. I've no leaking fluid, and when stationary, trying the brakes with the bonnet open I can here "pop" when the pedal is pressed past the first resistance point.
I'm thinking that the diaphram might have gone in the brake booster, but I'm open to other suggestions and possible a way to test for sure?
Thanks in advance.
