Hi everyone,
I thought I had a small radiator nick and foolishly decided to manage with water/coolant top up and finally some weld... today, my R107 was running very high temp and steaming from under the air filter. She's now parked safely until I get her to a garage. Yet, I would really appreciate expert opinion on what could be the problem... good to be better informed (and prepared...).

Image attached.

Thank you
H.

These cars have a cast iron block with aluminium heads- steam might suggest a cylinder head gasket problem? any traces of coolant in the oil -white streaks in the black oil
you could remove the air cleaner to get a better look?

Maybe the intake manifold gasket as the intake also has coolant passages. I can't tell if your car is a D-Jet or CIS car but if it's a D-Jet car then I'm pretty sure that the AAV is also regulated with coolant.

Get your radiator fixed. It's a brass radiator and can be fixed with a little bit of brazing.
