further to my previous posts on throttle response on my 1985, R107, 500sl, can anyone point me in the direction of some instructions i could follow to adjust the throttle linkage and make it more responsive?

Hi Ian,

Like i said on the other thread, take off the air filter and the rest is fairly self explanatory if you follow the linkages and take out any slack at all the mechanisms & joints..

Ok.
I'll give it a go.
Reading previous posts, I'm worried that I'll affect kickdown etc?

With any accellerator linkage you should aim for full throttle to be just obtained with full pedal depression.

That way you don't strain the throttle spindle or other component.

Something in the back of my mind about problematic RHD throttle linkages on these early 500 SLs --- might pay to take the cleaner off and have a look at the action. I contributed to a thread about this some time ago but can't seem to find it at the moment.
