Nothing special about this but I nearly bought it then the seller decided that he wanted to keep it, quite annoyed at first but happier with the one i ended up with.

It has increased by 1K since I looked at it but it now has amg wheels...

When I looked at it there was some bubling on the bonnet, can't remember if there was any on the wings(don't think so)

The soft top windows were cracking.

Interior was in good condition and quite high spec, sat nav, orthopaedic seats.

The service history was mercedes for the first few then someone else for the rest for me this was the biggest negative point about the car.

One of the better ones out there

I'd be interested to know what your reasoning is to think this.

For resale/provenance really, i don't think Im alone in having the misguided opinion that a service book full of MB stamps is nice.

I know that most specialists will have better knowledge of these car now than a main dealer.

As i said I was going to buy the car myself but I did think it was important to mention that the SH wasnt main dealer as it could matter to some and its at the higher end of the market. I can't remember if it was a specialist or not.

To me, with that car and of that age. I would want to see the first years MB stamped. After that, I would much prefer a specialist stamp. I would never consider taking my SL to a main dealer. I doubt there would be anyone who had ever worked on one. My specialist has been working on 129's for years.

In fact, if I came across, for example, the car you posted, and it had all MB dealer service stamps, I would keep on walking.

Got to say I'm on this page too, main agents tend to just follow what an electronic diagnostic system tells them these days and don't have the familiarity with the common 'foibles/fixes' of cars of a certain vintage that specialists do.
