My recently-acquired n/a M113 SLK had an 'Exhaust Modification' at MBS in Southampton just over a year and 5K miles ago. I wanted more details on what exactly this was, and spoke to MBS today; the techie with whom I spoke could not remember the car, but told me that it was probably simply a secondary cat delete, and they have done many of these.
The car is quite raucous as it now is, and I have no complaints about the performance. However, I had hoped to be told that a resonator delete and x-pipe fitting had been done, but it would seem not. Does just a secondary cat delete sound like a quick cheap job, and is it likely to be a good bet for long-term reliability?
