Anyone had experience with these?

Spotted the 2005+ have an updated nav but not sure what else the facelift had.

Keen to know things to check on viewings/weak points - had a drive of one the other day and the V8 is silky smooth...

I think the updated, widescreen Command/Nav came in in 2004. I think a minor body facelift came in, in 2006. I believe the front fogs have a chrome ring around them and the rear lights were updated too. I'm sure there were other things too.

The R230 question comes up weekly..do a search, loads of stuff on known issues...copy paste info below :-

Great cars...but yes R230 SL can be money pits!

Its Achilles heel is ABC, strut change will cost £1500 per corner (Arnott refurb strut £600 USA) , you must get the car up on a ramp and check for leaks...they also suffer from water ingress into the boot which kills the PSE pump...check the roof works perfectly...the R230 does have other issues which are well documented on this forum if you do search....you also need to carefully check what is covered in any trader warranty agreement.

Imperative>>>due to complexity I would always advise a good MB indy inspection...

Don't be scared though, as always a well looked after cared for example will be a great car!
