R231 SL400 2015 Strange Electrical sound in armrest

As stated in the title.

Sometimes when I go to open the door from the inside just as I pull the lever there is a strange loud buzzing sound coming form the armrest, it sounds a bit like a microswitch which isn't working properly and bouncing.

Its intermittent so a bit of a pain.

Anyone had anything similar?

Well, had the day off work yesterday after doing a few jobs around the house thought I would take a look a this annoying buzz I get from the centre console when locking/unlocking the doors.

It was intermittent now it does it all the time so its annoying to say the least.

I dismantled the centre console unit which entails starting with the rear one and working forward, pretty easy really you just have to be methodical and careful you don't break off any locating tabs.

Anyway, I found the problem; its the solenoid which locks the centre console lids that's the trouble it looks like something has broken in side of it and the nylon gear which locates a locking pin is just rotating and not seating on the pin correctly.

I could have started taking it apart and trying to fix it but its not meant to be taken apart so I thought better of it, I probably will once replaced.

However on speaking to Mercedes you cant buy this particular part only the full armrest and lids for the sum of £850!

Bugger that I thought so have tracked a centre console down on eBay with the solenoid still attached to it, I'll have it in a week or so its coming from Europe.

But, I don't need the rest of the gubbins so if anyone on here is in need of anything let me know.

Just so you know it all looks ok but one of the springs that keeps the flaps open has broken the retaining tab and the spring is missing, other than that it looks in good nick.
