Well contacted him today. He can service my command unit. If the laser/lense needs replacing it will cost an extra £25 pounds. So were talking £85 plus £25 and any postage, and of course my time to pull the unit out. Means I will without music for a week or so. Am planning to pull my out next week sometime.s

Replacing the laser is really easy, litterally a case of popping the top off and putting the new unit in there, one cable to attach.

£8-12 for a laser and around £20-30 for one in a housing.

Why not just do it yourself?

This doesn't look like that simple of a job! I am not the most patient of people when it comes to fiddly things! Big jobs ok but ones with little parts annoy me! I would rather pay someone to do it, at least if they brick it they have to replace it :)

Phew good luck with that! If i attempted that with mine it would end up in the bin!
Better to pay someone to do it than have to replace the whole unit./

Tony.

Yeah that doe look long winded.

The later unit is literally top off and swap the laser over.
