Greetings, citizens.

I've been looking out for a W169 A class for Mrs. Gaz now for a couple of months, without success.

I'd been looking for diesel (to offset the enormous thirst of the SLK in some small manner :p), however, having the mindset I do, only the most powerful one will suffice. So that'll be an A200CDI, then..

However, they appear to be spread thin (and apart from one close call, I haven't been able to find one with the spec. I want), so an alternative plan has hatched in my tiny mind. As the A160CDI and A180CDI are still 2 litres, is the only difference the map or is there more significant differences (bigger turbo, etc)?

With A180s being plentiful compared to the A200, I think I would it be easier for me to find one in the spec. I want. Another £500 (?) for a decent remap and hey presto, I have the car I'm looking for..

Advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Gaz

These guys are great and also about £300 for a remap
Iv driven the A160 CDI and i could die from how slow it is.

180 is ok but for over all you want the 200, it has 140bhp roughly standard, and remapped up to around 185bhp which is abit mad in that thing. My sister drives an A170 CDI and is selling that for a W169 A200 CDI ideally if not then maybe a C220 CDI coupe

Problem with the A200 CDI is they are so rare. Only offered for sale between 2005 - 2008 and never a very popular choice, presumably down to the high price when new.

Remap on a A180 CDI takes it to above power / torque of a A200 CDI and wont cost as much as £500. What options were you after? IIRC there is a black 2008 A200 CDI on the MB used car site at the moment with comand, xenons, electric folding mirrors etc.
