Real leather vs Artico leather

What's the difference between Artico and Leather..?????

Answer...£££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££:bannana:

The best way to get the smell of real leather is to use Gliptone Leather Conditioner. The smell you associate with leather is caused by the old tanning process. The new tanning process does not create any smell.

Thanks for the advise.

Gliptone cleaner and conditioner now ordered.

Cheers
Paul :D

Zymol Leather cleaner works very nicely on Artico, and smells very nice indeed ... much nicer than leather :D

And costs the earth too as with all Zymol stuff:eek:

I use Gliptone and find it fantastic, I'm sure the Zymol stuff is too btw:rolleyes:

Nah, just the stuff from Hellfrauds. Not £3000 leather polish, or anything like that ! Didn't cost much at all, it squirts on - is a liquid and then you just rub it in and wipe with damp cloth. Have had the same bottle for about 3 years, and hardly used any. And smells MMmmmmMMMMMmmmmmm :D

Isn't Artico just a fancy word for Vinyl???

No more than leather being a fancy word for 'skin of dead animal' !

Seems just as comfy to me .. stop knocking it :p And if you read the thread properly, its not just vinyl - only bits of it are !

I'm not knocking Vinyl. It's a very practcal material.

Almost all cars with leather interior will have mostly vinyl except on the seat facings.

I don't relish the thought of killing animals just to posh up a car interior where it isn't necessary.

Oh well you wont like me then!

I've just been to see my car being completely re-trimmed in Anthracite leather throughout. It looks and feels the absolute business. I'm very pleased with it so far. Cant wait to get it back so I can take the seats out again, fit the loom for the heated seats and the linguatronic!

Then its time for a full valet and some pictures:)

My new SClass with Exclusive Passion Leather better not have any vinyl anywhere:rolleyes:

I think they use the other bits for things like food (steak, mmmmm), glue, gelatin.......

When is your car due? It must be soon.

I have a "Estimated ready date of the 3rd December" Greg, a couple of months I'm afraid :( and depending whats going on i might not pick it up until the New Year.
