Rear windscreen de mister

When I put on my rear windscreen heater / de mister on my w204 the top two bars/ heating element don't seem to be working but the rest does.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Maplins do it cheaper Electrically Conductive Silver Paint : PCB Pens : Maplin Electronics

Firstly you have to find where the broken links are, and then apply those conductive paints to connect them

Well I have had a look and can't seem to see any broken contacts on the screen the top of it looks like its on a different circut and not connected at all to the lower part.

I'm stuck !!

You need to look very closely on the 'silver' side rather than the back. Even a hairline scratch through the silver can break the circuit, and often there can be more than one scratch in the same line. Perhaps a magnifying glass will help?

are u sure the top two bars are not radio aerial built in to screen ?

On a similar topic ; this may be a silly question !

My S203 tailgate screen demists fine . However , the rear windows on either side of the load area ( the ones between the C and D pillars ) also have wires in the glass , but they don't demist .

Are these wires the radio aerial , or are they meant to demist ?

Sounds like an aerial loop

They have aerials built into the screens for radio & central locking reciever, they are not all heated rear screen element lines.
Estates can have an alarm loop in the rear side windows incase of glass breakage
