Took my C207 E350, in for its airbag and steering column recall last week, thankfully I had the subframe inspected at the same time, although I’d already had a good poke around myself, luckily it’s got a clean bill of health, so I will be doing some preventative work, by spraying the ands after a clean up, a cavity wax and manufacture an extension for the wheel arch liners, to help stop the muck going up the end.

I cannot stress enough re inspection of the rear subframe on the C207.I had mine inspected 3 years ago and 9 months ago it failed and the car wras written off.The company that did the inspection said the real problem is that the subframe corrode from the inside. I really loved my C207 and it was a really good car but the insurance company point blank refused to repair the car.

Mercedes will most of the time, replace it free of charge, but it must be inspected by a main stealer.
