Recommended tyre pressure for mercedes w211 18"

Hi All,
Can anyone advise tyre pressure,
Front tyre size: 245/40/18
Rear size: 265/35/18

I've been to tyre shop for front tyres changed and he told me all 4 tyres should have 38psi,
I think is too much.

My 80% driving is urban area at the moment.

Please advise.

I do nearly all my tyres at 33 regardless , 38 is high for a pothole .

I run 34/35 for general knocking about but go to 38/39 for distance motorway runs.

For both our cars, I set the tyre pressures at +2psi above the recommended pressures by the fuel filler plate.
This allows for a little bit of loss.
I check them regularly.

Its whatever is in the fuel flap sticker. I add 2psi more as it tends to even out the wear in my own car.
