Please help people....
Approx 2 weeks ago the Red Battery light came on in my 2004 E200 K...
I took it to the garage and despite the guys there hooking up the volt meter the alternator was still charging the battery...approx 12.9
They put it on the computer and it through up some weird codes including one for voltage..
They cleared the fault codes and its been fine since..until today...
The light is back on and the SBC(H) light came on saying refer to manual and it said go to garage....
Do

Do

Sorry, I forgot my manners...

I am from Meath ,Ireland and I've owned my E200 K for 3 years..(04D).

alas I personally cannot help you in your hour of need my good fellow, but im sure my learned colleagues will be along soon to help you , and the wise one they call dieselman will prob know the answer , for he is a sage , and the fountain of knowledge of all things mechanical.

At 12.9 it is not charging the battery correctly - it should be around 14V

Sounds like you have a charging issue which would be confirmed by a competent auto electrician.

12.9 is not enough. It should be 14.4 max. I expect the alternator is duff

12.9 not enough - id be looking for somewhere around the 14V mark - google car alternator - im sure that will confirm this

Good evening all. Here is an update to my electric issues...

The mechanic found some " broken " wires and sorted them...the red battery light no longer comes on..
However now the warning for the convenience functions not available is appearing after 20 mins....???

The aux battery has been replaced but the SBC H is still not available.

Is it the voltage reg or altenator or both??

Any ideas...?
Already at 200 euro and counting...:-(

You probably just have low voltage on the main battery fella

Hi welcome

Could be worth getting the battery checked , is it the original battery ?

What is the charging voltage now it has been 'repaired'?
You really need an auto electrician to diagnose the fault. This will be your best option.
