Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum have moved over to a MB after 9 years with a BMW 330i. Both great cars but chalk and cheese. Didn't like the looks of the 5 series estate the Audi A6 is a VW in a posh frock and in a car the size of the USS Nimitz road holding at the limit is less important to me than comfort and quietness. Aesthetically the 211(sport) wagon is IMO the best looking estate out there old or new. Anyway onto the question at hand.
I have the E280 so 190bhp/325 ft lbs. It's no slouch but can't help hankering after the torque of the 320. I would have gone for one but couldn't find the right one close enough or in the timeframe I needed before the BMW emptied my wallet!
There are many remappers out there, has anyone used JF Automotive based out of Maidstone. They seem to be a reputable outfit. I asked them whether the car would be dynoed. Their advice was that they had already collected all the data they needed on this engine so this was unnecessary. Does this sound right?
Any experience, recommendations or pearls of wisdom appreciated.
